Three Little Birds Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support is a fiscally sponsored project of Federation of Neighborhood Centers Philadelphia (EIN 23-1630073). We support the one in four families walking the journey of pregnancy and infant loss in the Philadelphia/South Jersey region. We are 100% volunteer run and donation based, supporting the community at no cost.

 

Our mission - Three Little Birds focuses on assisting families experiencing miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal loss, SIDs, infertility, terminal fetal prognosis and pregnancy after loss. We help families locate condition-specific resources, initiate peer-connections, and validate their grief through loss. We guide them into creating their own community of support within our community. Since our founding in 2016, we have supported more than 350 families. Our mission includes educating and empowering maternal/fetal medical professionals who support loss families bedside, with our Perinatal Bereavement Training Program. Last year through our program, we certified 10 local professionals and 11 volunteer advocates, and received attention from KYW News Radio! Lastly, we stand in solidarity with the thousands of other loss advocacy groups with similar missions, to shatter the stigma associated with these losses along all family building journeys.

 

Our goals - Our goals are to support the ever-growing community of parents seeking validation in their grief, a safe space to explore their unique parenthood and help them find healing through advocacy for families like theirs. Since launching our free membership program in January 2023, we have had more than 80 families attend our diverse support groups and signature event offerings. In 2022, we opened the doors to our office/meeting space, the Healing Nest, in downtown Blackwood, NJ. There, we facilitate our support groups, bereavement workshop trainings and personal consultations. The nest is also home to our brick-and-mortar Etsy store, where we sell perinatal loss bereavement support items. Our storefront items also include self-published support journals, pregnancy loss/after loss bereavement door signs, personalized vinyl decals and gift packages. These items are meant to provide comfort, support and validation to loss parents, both locally and across the country. The funds are used to both further support our mission as well as raise awareness to pregnancy and infant loss.

 

Our impact - Providing the gifts of validation and support through our services and programs has paved the way for loss families to find inspiration and healing, in their baby’s memory. We have met several of our families at a time they felt the most broken, vulnerable and hopeless. Now, these same families are hosting fundraisers, going bedside to support others and even running support groups specific to their interests or personal journey. They are healing their hearts through helping others. Three Little Birds is a nest of support, created by a community of strangers who connect through the deepest wounds in their heart…and what has grown from that is something beyond our wildest dreams. We couldn’t do it without the support of the local community.
