"Friends of The Petersburg Police Athletic League" supports the The Petersburg Police Athletic League which first started in 1996 as a juvenile crime prevention program under the Community Policing Unit of the Petersburg Bureau of Police. It was incorporated and registered as a non-profit educational organization and was a charter member of the National Police Athletic League, which has programs implemented throughout the United States, including the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Petersburg Police Athletic League was in continuous existence until 2016.
In 2022, due to the commitment of several community stakeholders, the Petersburg PD Police Athletic League (PAL) was re-instituted to meet the needs of the youth as they exist today. Being a community-based youth violence prevention charitable organization, we take every opportunity to ensure our limited resources and donations positively impact their quality of life, and we need your help!
Friends of The Petersburg PD PAL is proud to be a fiscally sponsored CORE Cause charitable project of CORE Foundation Inc, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, EIN 20-5997764. Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
As a CORE Cause, our organization will raise awareness and needed funding to prevent and intervene in youth violence in support of our T.E.A.M., which stands for teen employment and mentoring. T.E.A.M. is a youth employment and skill-building program that involves mentoring, financial literacy, tutoring, and reading help. Our city’s youth and young adults so desperately need employment and mentoring to prepare them for adulthood. Now is the time to take action and change up the status quo by joining the Friends of the Petersburg PD PAL in promoting and supporting positive youth outcomes.
