2023 Troutman - Ültroüt - Lucifish Fundraiser
run. fish. beer. fundraise!
Tax ID: 81-1625829
At Running Rivers, we are a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) organization which firmly believes that the best way to ensure the preservation, protection, and maintenance of our irreplaceable public lands and waters is to develop and foster the stewards who will stand up in their defense. Our programs create unique opportunities for people to experience public lands and waters in novel and fun ways, to expand their depth of understanding of the importance of healthy functioning freshwater ecosystems, and to invest in their time, money, and sweat through on-the-ground stewardship projects.
The Troutman / Troutwoman is a beast of a challenge that we constructed as the ultimate test of a Flyathlete. In order to be successful, you must complete the following:
1) Run at least a trail marathon (26.2 miles or more)…
2) …with an elevation gain of more than 3,000 vertical feet…
3) …and catch four trout species…
4) …washing the entire adventure down with a craft beer greater than 12% ABV…
5) …all within 12 hours.
If that isn't enough, we have created Ültroüt, which adds another fish species, 24 more miles, 2000 more vertical feet and 3% more ABV (and 6 extra hours)!
Finally, past Ültroüt finishers are eligible to attempt a Lucifish, which requires a mind-blowing six species, 66.6 miles, 6,666 vertical feet and a 16.66+% ABV beer (all within 24 hours)!
We are fortunate to live in a place where adventures like the Troutman / Troutwoman / Ültroüt / Lucifish are even possible, but we recognize that we also must give back to our natural resources for them to continue to thrive. And so this year, we have created this fundraiser as a vehicle for our candidates to raise money for native trout projects.
Since 2014, our regular Flyathlon events have raised more than $500,000 for native trout related projects completed through our diverse conservation partners, including Colorado Trout Unlimited, the Western Native Trout Initiative, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the National Park Service, and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.
Importantly, all of this incredible conservation impact has come through individual donations from the friends, family, and colleagues of our amazing Flyathletes. From amazing folks like you.

Now is a critical time to invest in the preservation of our public lands and waters. Because Running Rivers is a recognized 501c3 organization, your donations are tax deductible.
