Join us for an elegant evening at Spoon River Artworks and Market. This is a farm-to-fork style restaurant located in historic downtown Belhaven, NC. Enjoy fine dining with locally sourced foods and accoutrements, everything from seafood to herbs and alcohol. Have fun bidding on our silent auction items that will support the full-length documentary, If the Ocean Could Talk - A Voice for the North Atlantic that celebrates our precious ocean resources, beautiful shorelines, and its unique wildlife residents.
The evening will feature the documentary short film, "356," that has been accepted into 7 film festivals and sets the stage for the full-length documentary. The producer/director, Bonnie Monteleone, will share compelling stories about her research, discoveries, the significance of the number 356, and why the North Atlantic needs a voice. Belhaven, a tiny town in NC with a population of 1800 people, is standing together to kick off the campaign dubbed "Operation 356." This small community is the beginning of a loud roar across land and sea through the art of storytelling why we should celebrate the Atlantic Ocean.
This campaign will travel along the eastern seaboard raising support and awareness to the importance of completing this documentary. Town by town, we will bring communities together to support the message of hope for the Atlantic as we learn what we can do to protect it.
Though heartfelt, the finished film will be filled with hope and promise as it inspires people to listen.
