Defend the poor and fatherless: Do justice to the afflicted and needy.

29% increase in foster children in Georgia in the past 10 years
Studies suggest that among the 40% of youth in foster care, up to about 80%
exhibit a serious behavioral or mental health problem requiring intervention.

Trust, Attachment, Anxiety
These are the most common struggles of a child in foster care. They also face significant emotional difficulties such as a lack of self-worth and the need to be in control, which can make it hard to establish healthy, loving relationships. The foster parents who take care of them face the difficult task of providing a home that attempts to "make up" for these struggles. Likewise, as adopted children mature and try to understand their adoption, many will develop feelings of loss, grief, anger, or anxiety. They may feel as though they lost their birth parents, siblings, language, or culture. This grief may also stir feelings of uncertainty.
Would you partner with Cord of 3 during the 2023 Generous Giving Campaign by giving financial support. 50% of all funds generated provide services to the Cord of 3 Family Fund to provide counseling, training, and discipleship to families who are un-insured, under-insured or who cannot afford the costs of the services. The other 50% will be used to support children and families who are a part of the foster care system of Southeast Georgia, children who have been adopted in overcoming these common struggles. We will also be providing support to the foster parents, adoptive parents, and those who provide respite care.
In our efforts to give back to this community of families here in Southeast Georgia,
we will be providing through the end of 2023:
- Free Counseling Services to: Foster or Adopted Children, Foster Parents and DFCS Workers, Adoptive Parents, Respite Care Workers
- Trauma Awareness Programs
- Secondary Trauma Supports to the Foster Care parents and to Adoptive Parents
- Parent Insight Nights - Facebook Live
- Camp Rock - a summer camp for Foster Kids and Adopted Children
- Care-giver classes
