Coupeville Student Support Services Resource Fair
Partnering to Provide Resources to Those Who Need it Most

Hi Community,
Did you know that there is a LOT of need - right here in Coupeville? Currently Coupeville School District has several student support programs serving those who need it most and they need our help. Between students classified as McKinney Vento (Homeless), Foster Care, Migrant Program, Multilingual Learners (formerly ELL) - these programs together have approximately 205 students so far in the 2022-2023 school year; your support NEVER has meant so much.
We are determined to make real progress in this aspect of the Coupeville Schools Foundation. We are partnering with the Coupeville Schools Student Support Services (Arianna Bumgarner is the program lead) and local community volunteer George Thawley to make a difference. Between financial support and physical donations, we are asking for your help in raising $7500 to support the Coupeville Student Support Services Resource Fair.
What is the Student Resource Fair?
On April 19th the Student Support Program of Coupeville School District and Island County Public Health will be hosting our annual Community Resource Fair! The event will provide our students and families information on free or low-cost resources available to them in relation to basic needs, health, enrichment, and academics.
The goal of the Community Resource Fair is to have a number of local providers, offering a variety of resources, represented through an in-person presence at an information booth. Students and families are invited to tour the booths, engage with providers, and participate in fun activities that they can then take home to use over the summer and beyond. Additionally, the Resource Fair will look to match students up with enrichment opportunities over the summer (Summer Opportunities for Coupeville Kids - SOCK).
The Community Resource Fair is open to all community members of any age or need, with a specific focus on the students and families of Coupeville that are the “hardest to reach,” namely multilingual learners, housing challenged individuals, and other high needs populations.

SOCK (Summer Opportunities for Coupeville Kids)
At the Student Resource Fair, eligible students are matched with summer opportunities in our community. In 2022, students were able to participate in great Island County programs like music camps, swimming lessons, driver's education programs, etc.
Your financial donations make the student's participation possible and the great staff at both Coupeville Schools and Island County will help make these dreams a reality.
