Meet Adrianne; she was selected from multiple cancer warrior applicants as one of the 2023 Runway of Hope Models read her story below.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2017 and thought I was stage 3 at the age of 42. I had 3 children who were ages 16, 12, 7. I learned in early November there was a spot in my sternum that required more imaging. I learned the cancer was in fact stage 4 and in my spine and sternum. I was diagnosed stage 4 denovo with no family history. I am learning to just live life and not worry about my next scan until my next scan. I love to travel and have been traveling with my sister, aunt, children, husband, and group called MBC travelers. They have become wonderful friends who just know what I’m dealing with. No questions, no worries. Just living life together. My kids all understand what my diagnosis means and are happy when I tell them the scan was good! I now like to educate my friends, families, and strangers about stage 4 breast cancer. My friends will comment on my FB page that did not know something and appreciate the information I share. Even my breast oncologist follows my page and comments to me when I see her about things I posted. I now just enjoy life and take it one day at a time. What else can I do?
