
Law Enforcement Torch Run 2023 Kick Off Conference

Sessions and Full Agenda Will be finalized in January. Possible sessions could be:
· Utilizing Special Olympics Arkansas Athletes through interaction training or presentations
· What not to do when working with people with disabilities
· How and When to ask for money
· Surviving Psychological Injuries
· Engaging your community in LETR and SOAR events
· Chase the Ace – Fundraiser
Breakfast:
· Breakfast is NOT included with your stay at this hotel, so please be prepared to pack something from home or purchase your breakfast onsite. You can order from the menu at the restaurant; purchase the continental buffet for $10 plus tax; or purchase a full buffet for $15 plus tax.
Winter Games:
· We are excited to participate in Opening Ceremonies, as well as Friday to assist with Competitions (Floor Hockey), Present Awards, and to let loose with the athletes at the Celebrate Your Victory Dance which concludes the event. Please wear athletic attire, including an LETR T-shirt if you have one, to Opening Ceremonies and Competitions, and your uniform to Awards (held at Springdale Recreation Center). Awards will start at 12pm at the Springdale Recreation Center.
Locations (Please note the different locations):
· Registration and daily sessions will be held in at the Holiday Inn Springdale.
· Competitions will be held at the Springdale Recreation Center – 1906 Cambridge St. Springdale Arkansas 72762
· Awards are held at the Springdale Recreation Center
· Opening Ceremonies and Victory Celebration will be held at Northwest Arkansas Convention Center
Additional Details/FAQ
- Who can attend? Any member of Law Enforcement, First responder that is interested in learning more about Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Arkansas and how they can take their city/county to the next level of engagement.
- What does it cost? Attending the event is free. Advance registration is required. Please complete the online registration form.
- What meals am I responsible for during this event? The following Meals are provided for the conference: Lunch and Dinner on the 9th, Lunch on the 10th.
- What is Winter Games? This is a statewide competition that happens in Springdale every year. It always hosts the sport Floor hockey and occasionally a few other sports. Athlete from all over the state will attend. The Kick-off conference would not be the same if there was not an exciting way to engage with Special Olympics Arkansas athletes. Officers who attend will have different opportunities to participate including presenting awards!
