It’s 2023 (5783). Does your community have a climate action plan yet? How about carbon reduction goals? You may have attended one of JCAN-MA’s many trainings over the years which laid out the basics to get a process rolling. Whether you have or not, the next steps are about developing buy-in for your ideas.
In this interactive session, Jennifer Haugh will offer insights on the elements of successful volunteer efforts and specifically the steps to a stakeholder-engaged climate action planning process. There will be time for Q&A and discussion, facilitated by Eric Grunebaum.
Jennifer Haugh is Vice President of Planning and Customer Engagement at GreenerU, a design-build climate action firm that offers services in climate action planning, energy-efficiency engineering, and construction project management. Jen is a Rappaport Institute public policy fellow and worked for the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources on energy-efficiency programs for commonwealth-owned facilities. She is also a senior fellow with Environmental Leadership Program. In 2011, she earned a master’s degree in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School and, in 2014, a master’s degree in design studies from the Harvard Graduate School of Design with a research focus on developing stakeholder-engaged public art processes to manage humans’ responses to a changing visual landscape in the realm of renewable energy.
Eric Grunebaum is a long-time climate activist who led Congregation Eitz Chayim in Cambridge to drastically reduce their carbon footprint.
