Dear Friend of the Foundation,
2022 was a BIG year for the Foundation. A few highlights include:
- We launched TRACK:33 to provide teens with cancer with a box that includes a pair of high-quality Skull Candy, noise canceling headphones, a gift card for a year of Audiobooks from Barnes & Noble, an annual Spotify Premium subscription, a journal, a pair of socks, and some other fun items. We provided our first 2 hospitals with 66 boxes (33 each).
- We had a successful JayDay (3/3) with our Act of Kindness tokens.
- We hosted our FIRST in-person 5K – it was Family and Pet Friendly with a Fun Run.
- We had a very successful 3rd Annual Blackbird Ball. Our most successful to date.
- We received 3 new grants to help expand our programming.
- We provided gifts throughout the year to nurses on the oncology floor at Akron Children’s.
- We announced a NEW scholarship – Mighty Like Her: Jordyn Myers Memorial Scholarship that will begin in 2023, Jordyn’s graduation year at Jackson High School.
- We awarded $17,500 in scholarships: $5,000 to a Woman in Engineering, $5,000 to a Student Athlete, $2,500 to a second Student Athlete, and $5,000 to a Cancer Survivor.
- To date, we’ve awarded $48,500 since 2020 (3 scholarship cycles).
In 2023, we are excited for more BIG things. We want you to join us – to be a part of it with us.
How can you help? We are looking for sponsors and donors. We are looking for guests/participants/volunteers for our events. We are looking for corporate partners. We are looking for friends to share our mission, our posts, and her story. We will have several opportunities for you to help, and we are sure there are opportunities that will align with your goals and/or suit your interests. In order to continue to grow and develop the number of hospitals we serve, the number of teens facing cancer that we can help, the number of students seeking higher education that we can celebrate, and the best ways we can honor the front-line workers who work tirelessly to take care of these teens/kids, we do hope you will consider joining our team. Your participation means so much to keep us moving forward and to ensure that we can truly honor the memory of Jordyn Myers through this Foundation.

Registration for tickets to the Blackbird Ball will begin on July 25, 2023, and will be available until sold out or November 4, whichever comes first.

If you are interested in a sponsorship that comes with event tickets and you would like to purchase additional tickets to join your group, please be sure to note that on the registration form online OR email [email protected] with the names of your additional guests.
If your sponsorship comes with event tickets that you cannot use, please notify us by October 18, 2023. Additionally, the names for your guests tickets would be appreciated by the same date. Thank you.
