IBT’s mission is to provide "evidence-based behavioral services for underserved families, to train new providers to implement those services, and bring Kansas up to capacity to meet the demand for these services." We do this by providing In-Home and Community-Based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy and Assessment Services to families seeking autism diagnostic/treatment services. We also operate The K.I.D.S. Place (a KDHE Licensed Child Care Facility) in rural NEK to provide affordable child care/early education services for low-income families and children with behavioral needs. IBT’s primary target is rural and low-income families with children on the autism spectrum who lack access to evidence-based treatment.
Currently, rural communities struggle to provide adequate support for children with challenging behaviors due to lack of training, knowledge, and resources. This results in children in rural communities losing out on the opportunity to receive adequate early education and behavior management services, which sets them up for failure in academic settings. IBT’s work enhances the long-term outcomes for these kids, improving their long-term quality of life. By delivering treatment and educational programming in home and community-based settings, IBT helps overcome the geographic and financial barriers to receive services experienced by rural and underserved families in Kansas.
