VOLUNTEER Sign Up-2023 DSAGC Family Holiday

The DSAGC is hosting a DSA Family Holiday Party at Sweetwater Farms (14412 Beatties Ford Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078) on December 9 from 10:30-2:30 (outdoor event). We would love to have you all come support and donate your time as a volunteer to make the party a success for the individuals with Ds and families we serve. Please see the list of volunteer help we need.  We would LOVE to see the volunteers in their most festive gear/attire to add to our fun holiday party vibe.


We simply cannot do what we do without the help and support of our event volunteers, and we hope that volunteers will enjoy this event just as much as our participants!

Please select one or more volunteer slots below. We ask that all volunteers arrive FIFTEEN MINUTES PRIOR to your selected time frame so that you can have time to park and prepare for your chosen role.


All event volunteers will receive an email from Vicki Coles in the week prior to Dec. 9th regarding event logistics and updates.

Event Set Up (10am-12pm)


Saturday 12/9/23 9:00am-10:30am

Volunteer tasks may include: Putting up Christmas decor, setting up table decorations/activities, setting up a few tables and tents, etc.

Check-In Table (12-3:30pm)

VOLUNTEER MUST BE 18+ YEARS OLD. Volunteer tasks may include: Checking in event guests, directing them where to go for various activities, tracking attendance, etc.

PHOTOGRAPHER- Family Mini Sessions

12/9/23 10:00am-2:00pm

Photographer (any level of expertise-amateur to professional- is appreciated) will take photos of families with farm and holiday backgrounds in scheduled mini sessions (about 10-15 photos per family). Photos will need to be edited and returned to Program Director within a week of event to ensure families have time to print and send off for the holidays. (Google docs, Dropbox, we transfer, etc)

Photography Assistant

Saturday 12/9/23  10am-2pm

Volunteer tasks may include: Moving materials for photographers, helping with the set-up of the photo backdrops, etc.

Barn Attendants

Saturday 12/9/23 10:30am-2:30pm

VOLUNTEER MUST BE 18+ YEARS OLD. Volunteer tasks may include: Making sure that guests are interacting safely with the horses in the barn, reporting any concerns/ issues to Vicki, etc.

Dance Buddies

Saturday 12/9/23 11am-2pm

Volunteer tasks may include: Encouraging the guests to enjoy the dance party, dance with the kids (with and without Ds), leading choreographed dances (ex. the Cha Cha Slide), etc.

Santa's Elves

Saturday 12/9/23  10:30am-2:30pm

Volunteer tasks may include: Helping children onto Santa's lap, monitoring the line for Santa, passing out candy canes, etc.

Event Clean Up

Saturday 12/9/23  2:30pm-4pm (will clean up fast to get out before too dark)

Volunteer tasks may include: General event Clean Up, sorting materials and tracking sheets, taking down decor and equipment, pack up supplies in van, etc.
