Enjoy a walk by the river and the colorful woods from Swann Covered Bridge to Powell Falls.
At 9:30 am we will meet at the parking lot of the empty building by the roundabout across from Tonka Supply and Chevron.
Please note that the access from Hwy 79 to Swann Covered Bridge is closed. From the meeting point we will drive on Hwy 160, turn right on Nectar Cir, turn right on Joy Rd, & turn right on Swann Bridge Rd to get to the bridge. It is a beautiful drive along country roads.
Dress for the weather and bring comfortable shoes, snacks, water and your camera - there will be lots of opportunities to take great photos to enter FLFR's 2024 Art, Photo & Video Contest.
The hike is a bit challenging at the start where you have to walk on rocks that are on a hill. After that there is an easy walking path.
Every adult needs to sign a waiver, which includes minors under his/her care. Please register each adult.
By the way this day is also the monthly cleanup at Swann Covered Bridge, if you'd like to join plan to stay an extra 30 minutes at the end of the hike.
You will get an email from [email protected] the day before the event. Look for it!
If you are traveling from other towns, consider spending the afternoon at the Covered Bridge Festival, downtown Oneonta. It is one of Blount County’s most celebrated and well attended events.
