Intro to Weaving, February

Wednesdays: February 7, 14, 21, 28 + March 6th | 6–9pm

Interested in learning how to create your own cloth? Or do you already have a loom at home but have no idea where to start? In this 5 week course you will learn how to transform yarn into cloth via a floor loom. During the first few weeks you will learn how to calculate materials needed to set up a warp, familiarize yourself with the loom, and dress it for weaving. The second half of the class is devoted to weaving and experimenting with color & pattern (through loom manipulation and hand manipulation). Intended for absolute beginners, no prior experience is required. Students have Open Studio access for the duration of the class (Wednesdays and Sundays 12-4pm & Mondays 4-8pm). Some time spent weaving outside of class is typical to complete your project. All materials included.
