From Taylor Riverside Park to Taylor Ford Rd

Kayak Trip

Registration is Full. Another Kayak Trip is scheduled on May 11th. Hope you can come then.

You are cordially invited to join Ben Alford  and Ellen Luce, FLFR guides, for a paddle on the Locust Fork River from the new public put in at Taylor Riverside Park to take out at the end of Taylor Ford Rd. River distance 6 miles, mostly flat water with a few ripples and scenic vistas, suitable for beginners.

Meet at 9:00 a.m. in the parking area across the highway from the Park to unload boats and carry them to the new boat ramp. A FLFR representative will lead only drivers to the take out at Taylor Ford Rd., 5-minutes away, and bring them back to the Park. All vehicles should park on the same side of the road. Other paddlers are to remain at the Park. The trip will launch following the end of the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Estimated time from start to finish, including shuttle time, is 5 hours.


Taylor Riverside Park, at the CR 26 bridge, corner of Dunn Ln. / CR 34, Susan Moore Rd., Blountsville, AL.  

Parking: for this event, please park on the field located across CR 26

Bring your own boat (kayak or canoe), paddles, life jackets, snacks/lunches, hat and sunglasses tethered on a string. 

Take photos and submit them to FLFR's Art, Photo, Video and Poetry Contest.
