Specialty crop farmers are food handlers. So
let’s make sure to be efficient and safe!
We have established a practical system formed
by farmers for farmers to create and apply appropriate food safety plans and
practices. This will be presented in 3 different workshops (1 in person, 2 on Zoom) that focus on
essential farming aspects.
The food safety training will consist of templates and the other material will help participants create farm maps and perform risk assessments, establish their policies, standard operating procedures, logs, and record keeping/traceability systems. This hands-on training will allow participants to prepare a personalized food safety plan that can be applied after the training and provide positive results and changes.
Location for the in-person portion will be at Lake Wanahoo near Wahoo, Nebraska. The remote workshops will be through Zoom.
