We are full of gratitude for the years of support you have given us that allows us to make a difference in the lives of children and communities!
This year, so far, we have been able to work with over 600 children through our classes and public art programs.
The majority of the children we serve come from families that wouldn’t normally be able to afford classes and high-quality art programs for their children. However, because of your continued support, we are able to serve a population of children and families that are in desperate need of enriching creative experiences for their children.
A big reason for the achievement gap between children at/below the poverty line and their wealthier counterparts is a lack of high-quality enrichment experiences outside of school time.
A donation of $85 will send a child to art camp for a week.
During this week, they will discover that they have the ability within themselves to solve difficult problems creatively and to create art they thought was beyond their ability. And while art camp may not seem like an epic event to most, the scholarship that you give could mean the difference between a child living their adult life in poverty and a child discovering that they can accomplish whatever they set their mind to.
This experience could mean the difference between a child living their adult life in poverty and a child discovering that they can accomplish whatever they set their mind to.
Once again this summer, we are offering summer camps to the children of our community. We have the capacity to work with over 100 students this summer, but many of the children in the immediate community of Oak Cliff do not have the means to pay for a week of art camp. While we offer our summer programming at-cost, it is still a difficult amount for many of the children in this area to manage. This is where you can help. Consider sponsoring a child for summer camp.
As we prepare for a very exciting summer, we hope you will continue to support us. Our work is making a difference. We need your help to keep up the good fight. Sponsor a child by sending your contribution in the envelope enclosed or donate online at www.colormeempowered.org.
And as always, our gratitude for the support you have already extended is beyond words. Thank you from the bottom of our artsy hearts.
Love and Art, Kristen
