Lyrical! Fall Orchestra Concert

Join the Metropolitan Youth Symphony as they perform an in-person concert on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 3:00pm at the Fine Arts Auditorium at Joliet Junior College, Building K (Joliet location) and Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 7:30pm at the Borromeo Convocational Hall at Lewis University. Pay-What-You-Wish Donations are accepted online and at the door.

The Lyrical! concerts feature a 55-piece orchestra under the direction of Peter Lipari. Maestro Lipari is the Director of Orchestras at Joliet Township High School and Music Director of the West Suburban Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Singers, and Festival Orchestra. 

The concert program will include energetic and lyrical pieces from the Romantic period from a vast variety of composers including Glinka's overture to the opera Russlan and Ludmilla, Delibes' March and Procession of Bacchus, the first movement of Schubert's Unfinished Symphony, Gliere's "Russian Sailor's Dance", In the Steppes of Central Asia by Borodin, and Suppe's Light Cavalry Overture.
