This annual convening brings workers and organizers from our 33 member groups together for peer-to-peer learning, strategic visioning, and building relationships across the food chain. We have a multi-pronged approach to supporting our members, but the summit is the heart of our mission: bringing together many organizing campaigns and struggles across the food chain into one larger, stronger movement.

FCWA members are located in Arkansas, California, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, New York, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington, D.C. Several are national, and 2 are in Canada (Ontario and Quebec). They are made up of berry pickers, poultry workers, dairy workers, warehouse workers, food factory workers, fast food workers, retail workers, street vendors and more.

Our members use a variety of methods to grow workers' organizing power: they offer skills-building workshops and know-your-rights trainings, provide free legal services, deliver free meals, advocate for legislation that expand workers rights, oppose legislation that harms workers, create new standards for employers, and much more.

The work of sustaining this movement is year-round, but the summit is a unique place where new relationships and opportunities are born. Warehouse workers from Chicago connect with farmworkers from Florida. Fast food workers from Portland connect with street vendors from New York. And it is possible because with donor support, FCWA can pay for travel and accommodations for at least 2 individuals from each of our member groups to attend.
