Each year there are so many children in our community whose only wish is to be able to attend school. Unfortunately, due to the severe poverty our community faces, this wish never comes true. As Haiti is facing one of the most challenging times in history, parents have not been able to generate an income to pay for their child's education. Many parents in our community sell goods at the local market or make charcoal for a living, that is how they provide for their family. There has been a drastic increase in lack of goods available to sell, directly affecting those that rely on selling as a means of income.
The cost of 2024-2025 tuition for our primary students is $65-$77 per student, per academic year. This does not include the uniform, socks, shoes, textbooks, backpack and supplies which is an expensed covered by the parent. Our goal this year is to bridge the gap between affording tuition and the fees that go along with attending school. We have created a scholarship program, to help assist those families during these tough times and to allow more children the opportunity to have an education, whether it be for just one semester or the whole school year.
We would like extend the opportunity for those who would like to give the gift of education to a child in need through a one time or monthly sponsorship. Your sponsorship will help alleviate some of that stress these parents face while providing an education for a child that wants to learn.
