Your support will make an empty space a home this season of giving!

Pictured here: LightHouse DC client Ms. Jackson and her baby, Diana. In September, LightHouse DC staff and volunteers turned their empty apartment into a true home.”

At LightHouse, we are proud to have created homes for 3,500+ DC residents and counting. Our dedicated staff works tirelessly every day to turn empty spaces into homes for our neighbors in need, and our work is only possible because of supporters like you.

This holiday season, we are reaching out to you for help

so we can help more neighbors like Ms. Jackson.

Ms. Jackson is an inspiring, resilient, and hardworking mother who, despite her challenging circumstances, never gave up on creating a better life for herself and her two-month-old baby, Diana. When Ms. Jackson found herself homeless while pregnant, she persevered. After months of navigating the system, she was finally approved for a housing voucher. Recently, she and her two-month old baby, Diana moved into an apartment in Northwest DC after leaving a local homeless shelter. However, their new home was lacking basic necessities. With the support of dedicated volunteers from Sibley Memorial Hospital, LightHouse DC fully furnished Ms. Jackson's apartment, making it a warm and welcoming home for her and her baby.

  • 3 ways to help us create more homes this season of giving!

    1. Donate Now to our Giving Season Campaign

Your generosity will allow us to help create more homes in the most efficient manner – whether it’s giving a bed, a kitchen table, or a reading lamp. We promise that your donation will make someone’s holiday brighter.

    2. Join Us on Giving Tuesday (11/28/23) for Trivia that Matters

Participate in our annual Trivia that Matters virtual event. Hear directly from our clients, staff, and board members while enjoying a fun-filled evening with your friends and family from the comfort of your home.

    3. Choose a specific LightHouse campaign to support!

We are expanding our impact to serve refugee families in the DMV area and are raising funds to support this initiative. Additionally, we need your help to purchase a truck that will enable us to reach even more families in need.
