Instructor: Deb Berkebile
2-Day Workshop: March 9 + 10 | 10am-4pm
Join us for a weekend of experimental dyeing with rust, vinegar, and tannin baths. We will use rusted objects to create patterns in a range of hues on fabric. Using Shibori techniques such as clamping or folding, fabric will be dyed in a tannin bath (such as Pomegranate, Myrobalan, and other Tannin blends). Combining techniques will create grays, blacks, purples, and even some reds in our final projects. All materials included, no dye experience required. Students are encouraged to bring rusty objects to dye with (such as chains, hinges, springs, rail road spikes, etc).
