Gannon’s family has named The Cancer Couch Foundation as one of the beneficiaries of his memorial fund. Attached below are some beautiful excerpts from Gannon's Obituary:
"We will cherish our many long walks together along the water in Florida. If we could reach up and hold a star for every time he made us smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of our hands."
Gannon’s passion for swimming was a defining aspect of his life, shaping his character and providing him with a sense of purpose and accomplishment. Gannon found solace and strength in the embrace of the water. He approached the pool and open water with dedication, tirelessly honing his skills, and finding peace in every stroke. His love for swimming was a testament to his unwavering determination and pursuit of excellence. He was a top swimmer in CT and FL. Gannon trained hard for many years to raise money for cancer patients through The Swim Across The Sound starting at age 12, when he was the youngest participant in the history of the event. Gannon and Andy were also the first Father-Son two-person team to swim the 16-mile distance across the Long Island Sound.
Gannon was a talented and passionate drummer with a natural affinity for percussion. We had such joy playing together with family in a band when he was a teenager, and then we had immense pride watching Gannon play in his Florida church band in recent years. The power and energy he channeled through the drums reflected his spirit and ability to reach others through his music.
Gannon gave in death as he gave in life; honoring his generous wish, several people received the Gift-Of-Life through organ donation.
