A Grateful Orchestra
The holidays are a time of gratitude. And we are so very grateful to you, our supporters, for allowing us to bring the joy of live orchestral music to thousands in our community for over two decades. Now in our 24th season, we continue to offer concerts with ticket prices ranging from $15 to FREE: free to students, and free to anyone who simply can’t afford to pay. Thanks to your ongoing support, we never turn anyone away.
Challenging Times
Behind the scenes, we need your help more than ever. While our ticket prices remain the same, our expenses steadily climb: rental of the Jackson Theater, insurance rates, printing costs, music rental are all more expensive. To make up the shortfall, we count on our generous donors. You make the music possible.
Our Musical Family
SoCo Phil is more than just an orchestra. We are a musical community that brings together the people who love to play orchestral music and all those who love to listen to it, enriching the cultural fabric of Sonoma County. Over the years, we have expanded our audiences by presenting bilingual children’s concerts in collaboration with Latino organizations and sponsoring small chamber ensembles to perform at senior centers throughout the county. We continue to seek out new connections and new groups of music-lovers of all ages and means.
Memories to Cherish
Many of you joined us in September to hear an amazing tuba concerto by Vaughan Williams and Beethoven's beloved "Pastoral" symphony. Our October concerts showcased a 15-year-old cellist from the SF Conservatory of Music and the winner of our SFCM Young Artist Competition, Starla Breshears, in a masterful performance of Schumann's cello concerto – to a thunderous ovation and rapturous reviews! Our spring concerts promise to be equally exciting, culminating in a performance of Mahler's monumental Symphony No. 5. We hope to see you there.
The Bottom Line
We rely more than ever on the generosity of our donors to keep the doors open, the lights on, the orchestra playing and our musical family together. Our year-end goal: $20K. Can we count you in? Your contribution in any amount will be music in someone’s ears, and the gift of music lasts a lifetime.
