Inspiring, Empowering, and Transforming people from Crisis to Thriving!
A diversified curriculum of life development courses structured to teach critical life management skills that may never have been learned or have been lost during the course of physical or mental illness, domestic violence, substance use, incarceration, and homelessness. They are essential for program participants to function independently in the community.
This is very similar to the Department of Social Service’s Temporary Cash Assistance Program—also known as (TCA). In order to receive TCA, client’s must volunteer up to 30 hours per week for the duration of their enrollment in the program. The same is true at Valor Ministries. Instead of volunteering, our client’s must take at least six classes in order to receive financial aid or support services.
Classes cover a range of topics such as how to set healthy boundaries, money management, becoming a better parent, retraining your brain to get rid of toxic thinking, and how to move from crisis to thriving. We also have classes that help clients find out about their unique personalities, talents, and abilities and how being in their optimum environments can help them be successful in life. All subjects are taught with biblical principles as the foundation of the educational content.
Classes are FREE and are held at the Valor Crisis and Training Center located at 324 E. Antietam Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740 and are open to men and women 16 years old and above. Registration is preferred, however walk-ins are welcome for our live classes. Several classes are now available online which allows you to participate using your computer, tablet, or mobile device. If you have been wanting to take these classes, now you can do so from the comfort of your own home.
Please make sure you let us know if you will be joining in person or remotely. Once you register, you will receive an email confirmation receipt. For those registering for remote classes, we will also send you an email with an invitation and link to the ZOOM meeting platform.
