Giving Tuesday For Empowering Teachers in Nepal!
Sponsor a Teacher to join Our Teacher Training Short Course at KUSOED!
Below you will find more information about Digital Bridges, Collaborative Learning Environment Centers, and the amazing work our staff currently does training teachers on digital technology and 21st century pedagogy.
Digital Bridges for Nepal (DB4N) is an international nonprofit organization with a mission to empower teachers, students, and communities through equitable access to modern technology and modern education in rural and underserved regions of Nepal.
We act as a catalyst for accelerating the modernization of Nepal’s education system in partnerships with communities, the diaspora, the private sector, and people of goodwill around the world.
CLEC is designed to facilitate student participation and engagement by providing space for students to learn collaboratively, share ideas, and solve problems together. Students sit facing one another in teams. They do their work collectively and learn from one another as they tackle problems and research solutions.

After the complete installation of CLEC equipment, the DB4N team holds 2- day training sessions for teachers. The session consists of two components: Pedagogical and Technical. On the pedagogical side, teachers learn different methodologies and guidelines in teaching and learning approaches for the effective use of digital technology and the design of the CLEC. Because many of our teachers are from rural and remote areas, they also learn about the technologies and equipment in the CLEC to improve their skills and confidence with these tools.

#NEED FOR TEACHER TRAINING: Listening to all stakeholders
After conducting a thorough consultation in each of our CLEC locations with students, teachers, administrators, and local officials, we identified additional teacher training as the most critical and cost-effective way to accelerate the changes and increase the impact the CLECs are delivering for schools and communities.
#SHORT COURSE: A partnership with Kathmandu University
In response to the findings of our consultation, DB4N and our research partner Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED), co-created a short course for the CLEC teachers. The course is designed to help CLEC teachers improve their own digital skills and classroom facilitation skills so that they can leverage more of the offerings the CLEC provides, and more effectively engage their students in critical thinking, collaborative learning, and individual problem-solving.
#Teachers React to Training: An Example from Biratnagar:
We recently conducted a workshop in Biratnagar for teachers at our newest CLEC. The reactions and feedback to the workshop were very heart-warming. The teachers were actively engaged in learning the CLEC approach and were confident in integrating it into their academic curriculum. We were very impressed by their commitment to going above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of their students.
There are more CLEC teachers interested in being a part of the course and fostering their knowledge. We need your help and support for this to happen!
