Invest in LGBTQ+ Youth Today. Help Them Thrive Always.

Latino Equality Alliance seeks your support in helping us raise $5,000 for our LGBTQ+ youth scholarships. LGBTQ+ youth face significant challenges in order to pursue higher education and many of our youth identify as low-income and first-generation. Since the inception of our awards, over 40 scholarships have been given out to support LGBTQ+ college-bound youth, totaling more than $60,000. We commemorate each scholarship recipient during our annual LGBTQ+ Youth Scholarship Awards Ceremony, typically held in April. Our scholarships propel our youth forward and gives them the support they need to succeed. This year, thanks to our generous matching sponsor, iZone Marketing, donations we receive up until November 29th, 11:59pm PST will be matched up to $5,000. This means that your donation will go twice as far in helping us secure funds for our 2024 LGBTQ+ youth scholarships!

The mission of Latino Equality Alliance (LEA), is to advocate for the safety, equity and wellness for the Latinx Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer + community. Our organization strongly focuses on youth empowerment, family acceptance, educational equity, public health, and civic engagement. Through coalitions, we strive to build power to elevate the LGBTQ+ voices in Boyle Heights, Southeast Los Angeles, and the greater east side communities of Los Angeles. Our current projects: Mind Over Matter, Queer and Trans Connect (QT Connect) and Rainbow Education Coalition- Los Angeles (RECLA), focus on building power through campaign building in order to create systemic change that fosters safe schools, neighborhoods and homes for LGBTQ youth and families. Our work is grounded in elevating LGBTQ+ community voices and needs, first and foremost. We host a plethora of community events throughout the year that engage the local community in arts & culture, health education workshops, and social programming.
