

Application for Certification -Practicing Member-
Certified Practicing Mediator Member (“CPM”).
A person shall be eligible to
be a Certified Practicing Mediator Member (“CPM”) of CFMA if that person has
completed at least 40 hours of training in mediation techniques and has
performed at least ten (10) mediations.
Any person who is eligible may
become a Certified Practicing Mediator Member of CFMA by submitting a completed
application form and by paying annual membership dues. Certified Practicing
Mediator Member allows CFMA to do a background check if required by a project
interested in CFMA Members.
Pass Certification Exam (60 Questions Multiple Choice) – The link to the certification exam is delivered to your email once your application is complete. A passing score of 75% is required.

Certified Practicing Mediator Member certification expires and is eligible for recertification if that person has, during the previous two (2) years:
1) remained and continues to remain a Member of CFMA in good standing; 2)
completed at least 16 hours of approved continuing mediation education with at
least 4 of those hours devoted to ethics;
3) completed at least 20 hours of service as a mediator; and,
4) completed at least 5 hours mentoring.
Any Certified Practicing Mediator Member of CFMA may recertify by submitting a
completed application form which establishes the above recertification requirements
by self-certification or affidavit and by paying Certified Practicing Mediator
Member membership dues and recertification fees.
