ON POINTE DANCE FESTIVAL Application 2024


Perform in NYC for the inaugural ‘On Pointe Dance Festival’ Saturday & Sunday June 8-9, 2024.

Launched to both celebrate and bring awareness to the diversity of ballet, the festival provides a platform for works performed on pointe.  Professional level artists/companies performing any style of ballet-based work that is performed ON POINTE are encouraged to apply!

OPPORTUNITY DETAILS

-What: On Pointe Dance Festival - a curated and fully produced, two program performance series of ballet works performed on pointe. 

-Who: Neville Dance Theatre plus 3-4 select guest companies/artists per performance
-Where: Alpha Omega Studio Theatre, New York City
-When: Saturday, June 8 at 7:30pm (Program A) and Sunday, June 9 at 3:00pm (Program B). Artists will be selected to perform in one of the two shows. Spacing rehearsals take place same day of each show 3-4 hours before each performance.


REQUIREMENTS

Works MUST be performed ON POINTE and should be between 6 and 15 minutes. Any style of ballet is acceptable: Classical, Neoclassical, Contemporary, etc. Due to venue size, groups of 2-4 dancers are preferred. Submissions must be the work you plan on performing. Marley flooring provided. No glitter, liquids, props, or video projections. Studio lighting. No back cross-over. 


FEES AND PROVISIONS

$28 application fee. If selected, a $150 production fee is required at contract acceptance confirmation.

Artists/companies receive video, photos, and a percentage of ticket sales. Performances are produced and presented by Neville Dance Theatre. 


Deadline to apply is Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 11:30pm EST.



Application questions consists of basic information on the artist/company (contact info & bio) and work you wish to perform, including provision of a video link of the full work and performance photo of the piece (work-in-progress permitted as long as the piece will be complete for the performance).
