How to plan a Successful Benefit Fundraiser

Within 20 years we have planned over 800 families benefits or what we call " Celebration of Support" fundraisers! We are celebrating their lives and the families support! By equipping the community supporters with the knowledge and skills to plan successful benefit fundraisers, we are empowering you to make a HUGE difference in the lives of your loved ones during their challenging time.

Empowering supporters to plan a successful one-day benefit fundraisers for their loved ones is incredibly valuable. These events not only provide financial support but also provide strength, joy and hope . Here's a brief outline of what such a class might cover:

  1. Understanding the Purpose: Discussing the importance of the fundraiser and why it's being organized. Understanding the purpose helps in setting clear goals and objectives for the event.

  2. Setting Goals: Set realistic fundraising goals based on the needs of the individual or family they are supporting. This could involve calculating expenses for medical bills, living costs, etc.

  3. Event Planning Basics: Cover the fundamentals of event planning, including selecting a date and venue, creating a budget, and forming a planning committee.

  4. Promotion and Marketing: Discuss strategies for promoting the event to attract attendees, such as social media promotion, poster, invitations, and reaching out to local media outlets.

  5. Fundraising Ideas: Explore different fundraising ideas and activities that can be incorporated into the event, such as auctions, raffles, food sales, live entertainment, etc.

    Soliciting Donations: How to create a donation letter, where to start to ask, asking for donations, track donations, etc...

  6. Volunteer Recruitment: Tips on recruiting volunteers to help with various aspects of the event, such as setup, registration, food service, etc. and the importance of having a volunteer schedule and having a online platform for them to sign up too.

  7. Logistics and Operations: Guidance on managing event logistics, including pricing, layout, agenda and supplies needed.

  8. Thanking and Acknowledging Supporters: Emphasize the importance of showing gratitude to attendees, volunteers, sponsors, and donors for their support.
