Grapehounds 2024 Registration
The Grapehound Wine Tour takes place this summer, July 18-21, 2024.
Your registration for the 2024 Grapehounds event includes an invitation to our Welcome Party at Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards from 5-8 PM on Thursday, July 18th. Hazlitt offers food and wine by the glass, beer, or wine by the bottle. There are lots of shady areas and picnic tables to hang out with your pups and socialize with like-minded greyhound folks. Your registration also includes a goody bag with a unique Grapehounds wine glass/wine carafe at check-in, along with a Grapehounds wine bag.
We also provide registrants a list of wineries with special promotions or discounts just for Grapehounds folks. This area features dozens upon dozens of great wineries, distilleries and brew pubs. Many restaurants allow us to have our greyhounds with us on their patio or deck. Your well-behaved greyhound is absolutely welcome at all participating wineries.
Check-In: Many folks choose to come to the event early in the week to explore, see the sights, enjoy the lake, taste wine and relax. Folks who arrive early for our event are called “early birds.” Early Birds may check in at Prejean Winery on the northwest side of Seneca Lake between 11 AM Tuesday (7/16) and 4 PM Thursday (7/18). You can pick up your list of wineries with special offers for us (discounts or specials), your wine glass and wine bag at Prejean Winery any time after 11 AM on Tuesday (7/16). Or you may check-in at Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards for the Welcome Party on Thursday evening (7/18), 5-8 PM.
Regular check-in for our main weekend event is held at Catharine Valley Winery on Friday and Saturday, beginning 11 AM Friday (7/21) to 5 PM Saturday. We will have a Blessing of the Hounds at 2 PM on Saturday at Catharine Valley Winery, then a free ice cream social for the hounds at 3 PM and finally the culmination of a huge auction/silent auction at 4 PM on Saturday.
Sunday On Sunday the hounds and humans gather for a leisurely walk to the tallest waterfall in the Northeast, the 415 foot high Taughannock Falls about eight miles north of Ithaca on Route 89. We have doen this walk every summer since our first event in 2006.
Your registration and support help us to help sighthound adoption groups all over the country. Come be with us and support greyhound adoption.
