37 Years of Supporting WNY Deaf, Hard of Hearing & Hearing Communities
Deaf Access Services, an affiliate of People Inc. (DAS), is the only non-profit organization that works to bridge the gaps between the D/deaf, hard of hearing and hearing communities throughout Western New York. That means that any revenue we receive for services is put right back to the Deaf and hard of hearing community through our programs and services. We have been serving these communities for 37 years now.
This year has been particularly difficult for everyone due to the pandemic of COVID-19. DAS has been continuing to provide services remotely in order for our clients and the organizations we serve to still receive supports including: interpreting services, job placement, providing assistive devices, offering American Sign Language classes remotely, and developing new programs for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and hearing individuals.
DAS traditionally hosts an annual fundraiser dinner to help raise money to support our programs and services, to celebrate our annual accomplishments, and to recognize the community and organizations partners who have made an impact. It is fun opportunity to come together as a community, however in the interest of keeping our community healthy we have decided to hold a virtual week-long fundraising celebration for 2020!
DAS would like to ask you to continue supporting us by donating what would have been the cost of tickets to an in person event. . Our virtual fundraising event will be held November 16th-22nd 2020 online.
