Impact Builder - February 2024 Sacramento Trip

...a day of advocacy to bring about more housing!

Date: Monday, February 14th 9am - 5pm

Join for a day of advocacy in partnership with Tiny Village Spirit up in Sacramento, asking our legislators to pass bills for longer-term and emergency housing. Here's a sketch of the day:
9am:  Breakfast & Writing a Lobbying Speech
10am - noon: Drive to Sacramento
noon - 3pm: Advocacy with Tiny Village Spirit
3-5pm:  Drive back to Walnut Creek

Teens attending should plan to wear business casual clothing, bring a water bottle and a sack lunch.

Location: We begin and end our day at our host facility. Then travel together to Sacramento. One parent is requested to help with carpooling.

About Impact Builder & Tiny Village Spirit:  Impact Builder is CCM's service learning project. This year, teens have picked Tiny Village Spirit in Richmond as their focused non-profit for this year. Our Impact Builder teens will collaborate with the youth and educators there, to help transform an empty lot in Richmond into a village with tiny homes, a garden, and a community center for unhoused youth to thrive and grow.

Please use this form to register your teen to participate in this day-long event.  If your teen is already enrolled in CCM's "Impact Builder", no fee is needed to participate as this workshop is included in the annual program cost. All other teens are welcome for a subsidized program fee of $36.

Impact Builder is part of the national "Better to Serve" program, operated by a prominent national Jewish Foundation. Costs are supplemented by the program.  CCM works to make all programming accessible for all teens, regardless of their ability to pay.
