Charya Burt is dedicated to the preservation and forwarding of Cambodian dance through formal instruction, performance, and the creation of new works. Your donation funds Charya’s work with Cambodian dance communities and supports her dance making and production costs.

An acclaimed master dancer; choreographer, vocalist, and teacher of Classical Cambodian Dance, Charya Burt is a former dance faculty member with the Royal University of Fine Arts, trained by the foremost dance masters of Cambodia. She is the director of Charya Burt Cambodian Dance based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

A 2019-20 Dance/USA Fellow and recipient of the Isadora Duncan Award for Outstanding Individual Performance, Charya has performed throughout the United States, including the Getty Museum, the Kennedy Center, the San Francisco Opera House, and countless times as a featured dancer at the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival. Presenters of her original works include the Jacob’s Pillow Festival, World Arts West, CounterPULSE, UC Santa Barbara, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
