It has REALLY been cold! As I sit writing this, we have just come through our
first real “cold snap” of this winter. Thankfully we shivered through it just
fine. It is nice to walk out of my warm home and get in a warm vehicle
(eventually), drive to work, walk in to a warm office. Then at the end of the
day to know that a warm home is waiting for me.
I’m sure you realize that for
hundreds, or even thousands, of people right here in the Chattanooga area,
these simple processes are not an option. All over town there are people
sleeping in tents, hastily constructed “shacks”, or maybe just under a tarp.
Of course this doesn’t include those who are sleeping in public shelters or
having to bunk with friends or family.
the Union Gospel Mission, we understand that many
make poor choices and as a result end up living that way. Some must endure
these conditions for reasons of mental health, addiction, alcoholism, or some
other “life-controlling” issue. For many who find themselves in this situation,
there may not be much we can do other than love and serve them when possible. But
for those who WANT a better life, we want to be here to help them!
Your financial support of the
Union Gospel Mission makes it possible for
us to make these life changes possible! With your partnership we can continue
