New Moon Night Sky Program – November 2, 2024

Sky's The Limit Observatory & Nature Center – 29 Palms, California

Sky's The Limit hosts a Night Sky Program on the Saturday nearest the new moon. Programs start between 30 minutes to 1 hour after sunset and last approximately 2 hours.

A camera on the 14” Celestron telescope inside the dome ventures into deep space to capture images of galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, and other beautiful objects in real color and real time. Guests view these celestial objects on a 75” monitor outside the dome, with commentary and a tour of the night’s constellations by docents or visiting astronomers.

At the end of the presentation, volunteers will have a variety of telescopes set up to view the night's celestial features. Guests may stay as long as they like after the 2-hour program, but the dome and restrooms will be closed.

Due to the overwhelming popularity of these programs and because of limited space to park vehicles on campus, STL must limit the number of vehicles by requiring reservations and a donation of $20 per vehicle. NO WALK-INS OR BIKES.

In the event of cancellation – either by the ticket holder or due to circumstances beyond our control – the donation will be retained by STL. The donation is 100% tax deductible.

PLEASE NOTE: Night Sky Programs are held outdoors, and desert weather is unpredictable. Sky's The Limit will make every effort to provide a meaningful event, but rain, high winds, and other inclement weather may make a program impossible. In the event of cancellation for any reason, an alternative date will be offered, but there are no refunds.
