Keep Them Housed!


We have been made aware of 10-15 families that are about to be evicted at a local extended stay motel. While normally I do not advocate measures like this, I have been assured that these folks have a good payment history and have only recently fallen behind due to health issues, employment issues, or a combination of both.


While the Union Gospel Mission does not budget for helping in this way, I know we have some folks who would like to help. If you would like to participate in assisting these folks maintain their place to live, please feel free to donate here. It costs approximately $250.00 per week (just under $40/day), and some of them are a couple weeks behind.  With rent running over $1,000/month for a one bedroom apartment, extended stay motels are not the bad deal they used to be. 


Any size gift would be greatly appreciated and helpful!
