Trans communities are under attack like never before. The results of the recent election have emboldened anti-trans rhetoric and policy, threatening the safety and well-being of our community. This is especially true in the South and Midwest, where anti-trans policies are likely to escalate.

TACT stands as a vital network of support—providing free, confidential peer counseling, support groups, and resource navigation for trans people during these turbulent times.

This is a critical moment for TACT: More trans people than ever are turning to us for support, but this year our grant funding has fallen short. Without your help, we won’t have the resources to keep offering the care our community urgently needs.

How Your Donation Helps Us Respond

Every dollar you give strengthens TACT’s adaptive, resilient network, helping us respond to rising hostility across the country by delivering essential services to trans people during critical moments.

Our Gender Advocates offer more than connection and empathy—they are trained to help trans individuals navigate urgent challenges, from accessing affirming care when it’s restricted to finding safety and relocation resources when necessary.

Here’s a glimpse of what your contribution can make possible:

$25 – Connects a trans or nonbinary person to their first peer counseling session.

$50 – Funds 3 months of a peer support group for trans and nonbinary individuals.

$100 – Helps build additional cybersecurity protections to keep TACT’s network secure.

$200 – Trains a new Gender Advocate, who can provide 50+ hours of peer support in a year.

$500 – Expands TACT’s local partnerships and in-person community safety spaces.

$1,000 – Ensures 40 trans and nonbinary people receive personalized care and ongoing peer support, fostering sustained connection and belonging.

Our 3-Year Impact: Transforming How Trans Folks Access Care

Since 2021, TACT has expanded to 34 states, fostering life-affirming connections and building a network of support that transforms lives.

Since our founding we’ve:

• Provided peer support to over 500 trans individuals across 38 states. • Facilitated over 232 hours of support groups and 423 one-on-one counseling sessions. • Trained and supported a network of 21 Gender Advocates and 9 Peer Facilitators who have delivered life-affirming care. • Hosted 11 community events to foster connection and belonging. • Launched a Resource Database of 544 trans-affirming providers set for public release in 2025.

Unlike larger nonprofits, trans-led organizations like TACT rarely receive the funding we need to sustain our work. In fact, 78.7% of TACT’s budget comes from individual donors like you. Without your support, this critical safety net could disappear at the moment our community needs it most.
