KING SCHOLAR APPLICATION
PACKET
Since
1998, the Franklin Township Dr. Martin Luther King Community Foundation has worked
to support and uplift the students in Franklin Township public schools. This
year we are launching a new initiative called our King Scholars program
aimed at empowering our students. We are searching for a select few high
school seniors who are seeking ways to demonstrate their leadership, creativity
and community service. King Scholars benefit from networking
opportunities, training, community service credits and college scholarships.
To
apply, please complete this application packet in its entirety.
1) All candidates must be
seniors from any of Franklin Township’s Public High Schools
2) All candidates must
complete the Application Form and upload the following items into the portal,
or mailed to the below listed address.
INCOMPLETE
APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
a)
Three (3) letters of recommendation as indicated below:
i)
Two (2) from current High School teachers
ii)
One (1) from a member of the community such as clergy,
employer, organization leader
(Letters of recommendation may be uploaded through the portal or mailed to the below listed address)
b) High
School Transcript with an official school seal and signature
(Official transcripts
should be mailed to the below listed address)

Personal Statement – Dr. King once said, “Everybody can be
great…because anybody can serve.”
Write
a personal statement telling us about yourself and how you would like to serve
your community. (Personal statement
should be at least 250 words, typed and double-spaced)
(All
personal statements should be uploaded into the portal)
Entire
completed application packet must be received by Thursday, December 12
2024.
No applications will be accepted after this date.
