Spring 2025 Future Focus Career Panels
The Future Focus program is a classroom-based curriculum designed to promote positive decision-making among junior high school students. Trained volunteer presenters offer interactive programming to help students realize that educational attainment today has lasting impacts on their options later in life. It is meant to empower students that they have control over their daily decisions, as small as completing their homework and attending class, which can keep them on track for high school graduation and beyond overtime.
Counselors and teachers from area junior high schools partner with Education for Tomorrow Alliance staff members to offer Future Focus programming that is relevant to their students. In some schools, volunteers offer 50 and 90-minute classes that help students set goals, while in others volunteers participate in career panels or mock interviews.
Stockton Jr. High School Career Panels
Professionals will participate in 1 hour and 15 minute career panels. During these career panels, professionals will be asked to share about their life experience and expertise within their field, followed up by a Q&A session. The insights of volunteers provided to the Junior High School students can prove valuable in helping encourage and shape tomorrow's leaders.
