Valladolid, Philippines 2025

February 18 - March 2, 2025

Who we are:

The 2025 Valladolid Mission team is made up of 58 physicians, dentists, nurses, and lay people who volunteer their time and resources to provide surgery and dental care at no cost to medically underserved patients in the Philippines. All team members pay for their their own travel expenses and lodging. We work closely with the regional government, local physicians and dentists, and local non-profit organizations to ensure continuity of care.

What we do:

Over the course of this one week mission to the Philippines, Aloha Medical Mission plans to perform hundreds of surgical procedures and thousands of dental procedures at no cost to the medically underserved. During the 2024 mission, we successfully treated 2,293 patients!  This included 111 major surgical procedures, 237 minor surgeries, and 3,407 dental procedures. This was only possible because of generous donations from supporters like you. Click here for the complete 2024 mission report.

Success Stories from the 2024 Mission:

Giant Salivary Gland Tumor

This woman presented with a massive tumor that had been growing for over 40 years, originating from her left cheek salivary (parotid) gland. She said we were the first doctors she had ever seen in her life. A 3-hour surgery was successfully performed by 2 surgeons specialty-trained to operate in this complex area of the body. She was discharged after only 2 nights in the hospital (photo on right immediately before discharge).

Massive Ovarian Cyst

A young woman presented with a large (18 inches) cyst on one of her ovaries that was causing her pain and problems with normal daily activities.  Surgery was done through a 3-inch incision in the lower abdomen. Over 9 liters of fluid were drained from the cyst, shrinking it so that it could be removed through the small incision. The entire operation took 45 minutes. She spent one night in the hospital after surgery and was able to go home the next day with relief of her symptoms.
