2025 Mud Stomp
Help create habitat for threatened birds
Join SFBBO staff at a Snowy Plover habitat restoration event! To help improve the nesting success of these threatened species, we will increase pond texture and habitat complexity by spreading oyster shells. This in turn helps Snowy Plovers camouflage their nests so they can better evade predators. Volunteers should be prepared for a short carpool drive on a graded dirt road. This event will involve carrying 5-10 pound buckets over potentially soft or slippery ground. Volunteers may also need to climb up and down from a boardwalk that is about 5 feet off the ground.
The event is at the Dumbarton Bridge Vista Point and Trail in Menlo Park. SFBBO Staff will direct you where you can park.
