Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement created in 2012 as a simple idea:

a day that encourages people to do good.

Stories—whether they are novels, patient education materials, advertising, or history books—are integral to a rich culture. Editors are often caretakers for these stories, and it is their work that can promote diversity and amplify underrepresented voices. As LGBTQIA+ editors, we want our voices included and to contribute to the evolution of our profession and to the larger society in which we live.

Your support this Giving Tuesday and throughout the holiday season will make it possible for our organization to continue to function and help us grow.

We're an all-volunteer run organization, and your donation will fund our basic operating expenses (e.g., continuing to set up basic infrastructure and meet goals around privacy and accessibility, purchasing tools to make our volunteers' work more sustainable) and support our ability to expand our online events. Since May 31, 2022, we’ve grown from launching an online discussion space, to hosting monthly virtual meetings (both in North American and international time zones), to creating a mentorship program, and to beginning to host special events. Because it can be more difficult for editors of marginalized backgrounds to enter the profession, we have no required membership fee. Please help us continue to meet that goal!
