Register Here to for The B# Sharp (Sam Houston High School Marching Band) Mentoring Initiative is a holistic school based Mentoring program where Committed Mentors are matched with youth mentees enrolled in one of our School or Community based partnering entities. To meet requirements mentors may report to assigned mentoring school twice per month to mentor their assigned youth. Mentors may also be referred to one of our partner mentor organizations for matching within one of their programs.
The B# Sharp Youth Mentoring Initiative is also a part of the 100 Black Men of San Antonio San Antonio African-American Male Mentor Initiative (SAAAMMI) which supports the City of San Antonio "My Brother's Keeper" Initiative and efforts.
The SAAAMMI program pairs San Antonio Male Children of color with San Antonio Male Mentors of color who can provide additional Mentoring resources or support with the goal of helping mentees see they can achieve anything they want to in life.
The 100 Black Men of San Antonio B# Sharp Youth Mentoring Initiative is a part of the My Brother's Keeper collaborative effort between the City of San Antonio, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Communities in Schools San Antonio, Youth for Christ, and the 100 Black Men to help at risk youth become successful citizens. The program involves incorporating each to the 100 Black Men's programmatic mentoring initiatives - Education, Economic Empowerment, Health & Wellness, Leadership Development - into a one to one match mentoring initiative. Youth are coached in self-awareness, leadership, academic success, healthy living, and economic empowerment life lessons.
