Colin Clark- 50 Mile Ultramarathon Fundraiser
Join My Efforts to Save Lives in Nigeria!
Howdy, I’m Colin Clark, a senior kinesiology major at Texas A&M. I also serve as the VOOM Ambassador vice president for this school year. VOOM is an organization that I am incredibly passionate about and I hope to be able to work with for many years to come. The VOOM Foundation provides life-saving medical care at no cost to patients in Nigeria. This summer I was fortunate enough to travel with them to Nigeria for a week and work in their hospital, while also talking to patients and locals in the area. During this mission I realized just how impactful the work of A&M students has been in Nigeria, but also how much more we could be doing.
That is why I have decided to run the Grasslands Trail Run 50-mile ultramarathon this March. My goal is to raise $5,000, which will go directly to VOOM and can fund 2 life-saving surgeries. I chose an ultramarathon because of how inspired I was by the strength and resilience of the Nigerian people, and I wanted to test my own resilience. Furthermore, I felt that there needed to be some “proof in the pudding” when I say the this is an organization that means a lot to me and I will do whatever I can to support their cause.
Any donation amount will go a long way in helping to provide free surgery to people who need it most, and I am incredibly grateful for any and all contributions! If you have any questions about the race, why I am doing it, or you would just like to learn more about VOOM, shoot me an email!
Thanks and Gig Em’
Colin
