Help Us Double Our Impact for Hurricane Helene Victims in Southwest Virginia

As Purple Heart recipients, we understand the resilience required to recover from a devastating blow. While our focus is often on the welfare of veterans, the aftermath of Hurricane Helene has affected entire communities, including veterans and civilians alike.

From September 26-28, 2024, severe flooding devastated parts of Southwest Virginia, leaving many in need of long-term recovery support. To aid in these efforts, the United Way of Southwest Virginia has established the 2024 Southwest Virginia Disaster Relief Fund. Every dollar raised will go directly to those impacted—100% of funds will support the rebuilding process, with no overhead fees.

The Military Order of the Purple Heart in Virginia has raised $12,500 internally across our six chapters to support these communities. But we believe we can do even more with your help. We’re challenging our supporters across the state to match our total, allowing us to deliver $25,000 to United Way by December 1st.

Your support can make a tangible difference for those facing the aftermath of a once-in-a-thousand-year storm. By working together, we can bring hope and resources to those in need.

Our goal is to raise an additional $12,500 by November 15th. Once we reach our goal, Virginia Department Commander Ben King will personally deliver the combined donation to United Way of Southwest Virginia.

Will you join us in this effort? Your generosity can help restore hope to those rebuilding their lives.

Donate today and help us reach our goal!
