Cohen's Extraordinary Challenges

Cohen Smith

Cohen is a bright and loving boy who has faced extraordinary challenges since his very first moments.

Born into difficult circumstances, exposed to several various substances, then placed into foster care, he came to us at just 7 weeks old and permanently joined our family in September 2024. As he has grown, we’ve learned that Cohen has several medical challenges, including Autism, Mixed Expressive Receptive Language Disorder, and Global Developmental Delay. Despite his sweet and affectionate nature, he struggles daily with sensory processing issues, overwhelming stimuli, and a tendency to wander off when outside.

Cohen’s frequent medical appointments, most of which are four hours away, can increase his anxiety and make outings quite stressful. We believe that a service dog could transform Cohen’s life, providing him with companionship, comfort, and essential support as he navigates his daily challenges.

However, the financial burden of acquiring a service dog is significant, and we cannot do it alone. With your generous support, we can provide Cohen with the assistance he needs to thrive. Every donation, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to making this dream a reality for him.
