Affordable Hybrid Training for Everyone
– $750 per student –
Sponsored by BILLINGS MEDIATION CENTER and coming January 2025 with over 50 hours of training and application.
The viewing of video content, participation in discussion, along with interactive role-playing is expected to meet or exceed 5 hours each week over 8 weeks, depending on each student’s level of involvement:
VIDEO content is produced and presented by Dr. Clare Fowler of Mediate University. This is recorded content from an earlier live event sponsored by the Billings Mediation Center. Each video section is monitored by Mediate University to prove the video was viewed. Viewing is scheduled to keep all students on track leading up to discussions.
DISCUSSIONS will utilize the Billings Mediation Training forum, allowing topics presented for discussion by students to fully engage in the discussion. At least 15 minutes of participation weekly is expected.
LIVE / VIRTUAL ROLE PLAYS will be conducted scheduled Saturday mornings with small groups in person (or via Zoom as requested). If sufficient interest requires additional sites, Zoom will also be utilized to serve those additional sites and attendees, connecting all students. Role Plays are expected to require up to 1.5 hours of participation when scheduled within the Monday evening events (see Calendar).
FULL ATTENDANCE POLICY: Participation in every hour and facet of training is critical to committed participants’ efforts to obtain practical experience and certification. The format nature of this course allows great flexibility of time throughout a given week. Therefore, any absence in any viewing of required video, discussion, and/or role-play scheduled Saturdays will impede the ability to obtain a certificate of attendance for Certified Facilitative Mediators Association (CFMA) mediator certification.
BONUS 1: Participate in 3-Hour Role-Play Workshop on Saturday March 22 to practice the application of learned negotiation techniques with other students and seasoned mediators. BONUS 2: Automatic registration to attend monthly virtual mediator discussion events titled "2nd Fridays Mediator Zoom Discussion." Events qualify for approval by CFMA as Continuing Education (CE).
