Gemma Wildsmith - Missionary Team Director
Since first attending an Echo retreat in the summer of 2015, I had a feeling that God was inviting me into long-term life-changing transformation through community, prayer and the Theology of the Body. It was so compelling that I went home to England and flew back out six weeks later for another Echo experience!
This time around it's not just a few weeks, or even a few months, but a few years, for which God has called me to Louisiana and Echo Community!
I cannot tell you how excited I am to serve Echo Community as Missionary Team Director, helping to transition from a three month summer mission programme to a year-long mission programme. I cannot wait to invite more young adults into an experience of prayer, community, service, study, evangelisation and transformation. My greatest privilege in life has been to walk alongside others in faith and the fact I get to do that in the context of Theology of the Body and Echo Community is a huge blessing.
Since 2018 I have fundraised around 50% of my salary each year. This has taught me to be reliant on God's provision for my needs in both big and small ways. For me, this is an essential part of the missionary life experience, and so in solidarity with the young adult missionaries I'll be walking with, I am continuing to raise a portion of my salary for Echo Community.
Thank you in advance for any support you may be able to give, and please pray for me as I settle in to living and working as part of Echo Community. Louisiana is VERY different to England!
