Volunteer Group Donation

We welcome volunteer groups as a great community service opportunity and team building activity!

If you are interested in volunteering as a group (sports team, church group, school group, corporate employee group, etc.) please contact [email protected] to schedule the group - do not sign up on VolunteerHub without contacting us first. Because volunteer groups require staff to accompany and supervise, as well as dog-friendly dogs to participate simultaneously, sessions cannot be guaranteed.

We absolutely appreciate your time and efforts to volunteer at our shelter. Organizing and supervising volunteer groups requires extra time and additional rescue staff to make sure everything runs smoothly and safely, so we ask for a donation contributing back to the dogs. This is a deposit to hold the date for your volunteer group, but we appreciate a larger donation if you are able to contribute more towards our mission. Please pay before arriving at the shelter to volunteer, or you can give us the check/cash when you arrive. All donations are tax deductible and you will receive a tax receipt.

Please note:

• Volunteers will take a guided group walk around the Harbor Point area of Stamford for about 1 hour. Volunteers should be comfortable walking an unfamiliar dog on leash, maintaining a safe distance between dogs, and following the directions of staff. 
• Groups are limited to 5 volunteers per one hour session. You must email us first to set up the group.
• For minors, we can have a maximum of 5 volunteers age 14-17 with one adult chaperone per one hour session.
• If you have more volunteers who want to participate we can schedule another session. We can have up to 3 group sessions in one day but we can schedule more days if needed.
• ALL must have signed waivers (also approved by a guardian) before the session.

IF ANYONE ARRIVES AT THE SHELTER WITHOUT A COMPLETED WAIVER, THEY WILL BE SENT HOME.
